Ingredients
  

Main Casserole
  • 3 cups cooked chicken shredded or cubed
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp butter or olive oil melted
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 clove garlic minced, optional
  • fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Mix cooked chicken, marinara sauce, and garlic. Spread evenly in dish.
  3. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
  4. Combine breadcrumbs, melted butter, and Italian seasoning. Sprinkle over top.
  5. Bake 20 minutes until bubbly and golden. Broil briefly for extra crispiness.
  6. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve warm.

Notes

For a pasta bake version, mix 8 oz cooked penne into the base before baking.
