Ingredients
  

Sloppy Joe Filling
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion diced
  • 0.5 red bell pepper diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.75 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp chili powder
  • 4 whole grain hamburger buns

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Cook onion and bell pepper until softened.
  3. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
  4. Add ground turkey and cook until browned.
  5. Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and spices.
  6. Simmer 8–10 minutes until thick.
  7. Spoon mixture onto buns and serve.

Notes

Serve with pickles or avocado for extra flavor and texture.
