Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Sauté apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and butter until softened and lightly caramelized.
- Spread cubed bread into the baking dish, then add sautéed apples on top.
- Whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugar, and vanilla together to make the custard.
- Pour custard over the bread and press down lightly to help absorption.
- Drizzle melted butter over the top.
- Let sit for 10 minutes before baking.
- Bake for 45–55 minutes until golden on top and set inside.
Notes
Best served warm with caramel, whipped cream, or vanilla ice cream.
