Ingredients
  

Bread Pudding
  • 6 cups cubed brioche or French bread day-old
  • 3 apples peeled and diced
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter for sautéing
  • 0.33 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp nutmeg
  • 4 eggs large
  • 1.75 cups whole milk
  • 0.75 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp melted butter for drizzling

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Sauté apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and butter until softened and lightly caramelized.
  3. Spread cubed bread into the baking dish, then add sautéed apples on top.
  4. Whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugar, and vanilla together to make the custard.
  5. Pour custard over the bread and press down lightly to help absorption.
  6. Drizzle melted butter over the top.
  7. Let sit for 10 minutes before baking.
  8. Bake for 45–55 minutes until golden on top and set inside.

Notes

Best served warm with caramel, whipped cream, or vanilla ice cream.
