  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 6 slices bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni uncooked
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 0.5 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 0.5 tsp smoked paprika optional
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • pickles for garnish
  • parsley or green onions optional garnish

  • 9x13 inch baking dish

Method
 

  1. Cook pasta until al dente, drain, and set aside.
  2. Cook bacon until crisp, crumble, and set aside.
  3. Brown ground beef with onion and garlic. Drain grease.
  4. Stir in cream cheese, ketchup, mustard, milk, and cheddar until creamy.
  5. Mix cooked pasta, beef mixture, and half the bacon. Transfer to a greased baking dish.
  6. Top with remaining cheese and bacon.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes or until bubbly.
  8. Garnish with pickles or parsley before serving.

Notes

For extra crunch, top with crushed potato chips or fried onions before baking.
