Ingredients
  

Chamomile Base
  • 1 cup strong chamomile tea cooled
  • 1 chamomile tea bag or 1 tbsp loose flowers
Smoothie
  • 1 frozen banana large, sliced
  • 0.5 cup Greek yogurt or plant-based alternative
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup, adjust to taste
  • 0.25 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.125 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch ground ginger optional
  • 0.5 cup ice cubes if using fresh banana
Garnish
  • fresh chamomile flowers
  • sliced banana
  • chopped walnuts or granola
  • honey for drizzling

Method
 

  1. Brew strong chamomile tea with boiling water and steep for 8-10 minutes to extract maximum flavor.
  2. Remove tea bag or strain loose flowers, then refrigerate tea until completely cool, about 30 minutes.
  3. Slice banana and freeze for at least 2 hours, or use pre-frozen banana for best texture.
  4. Add cooled chamomile tea to blender first, followed by frozen banana slices.
  5. Include Greek yogurt, honey, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and optional ginger in blender.
  6. Blend on high speed for 60-90 seconds until completely smooth and creamy.
  7. Taste and adjust sweetness or spice levels according to preference.
  8. Pour into glasses and garnish with chamomile flowers, banana slices, nuts, and honey drizzle.

Notes

For best results, prepare chamomile tea the night before. This smoothie is naturally vegan when using plant-based yogurt. Can be made ahead and stored in refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
