Ingredients
  

Beef
  • 1 lb flank steak thinly sliced
  • 0.5 cup cornstarch
  • 1 egg
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
Sauce
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 0.25 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ginger minced

Equipment

  • Wok or deep skillet
  • Mixing bowls

Method
 

  1. Coat sliced beef with egg, seasoning, and cornstarch.
  2. Fry beef in batches until crispy and golden.
  3. Stir-fry vegetables briefly over high heat.
  4. Simmer sauce ingredients and thicken with slurry.
  5. Toss crispy beef with sauce and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra crispiness, double fry the beef before tossing in sauce.
