Ingredients
  

Pasta Salad
  • 12 oz rotini pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 0.5 cup diced dill pickles
  • 0.25 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
Dressing
  • 0.75 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 2 tbsp sweet pickle relish
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp pickle juice

Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Skillet
  • Mixing bowls

Method
 

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and rinse with cold water.
  2. In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned.
  3. Season beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Let cool slightly.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, relish, pickle juice, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  5. In a large bowl combine pasta, beef, cheese, pickles, and onion.
  6. Pour dressing over the mixture and toss until coated.
  7. Fold in shredded lettuce just before serving.
  8. Top with sesame seeds and chill for 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Add lettuce just before serving to keep it crisp.
