Ingredients
  

Shrimp
  • 1 lb shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp blackened seasoning
Stroganoff Base
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup mushrooms sliced (optional)
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup chicken or seafood broth
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 cup sour cream
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
Seasonings
  • 0.5 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

Method
 

  1. Season shrimp with blackened seasoning.
  2. Sear shrimp in butter until blackened; remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté onions and mushrooms in remaining butter.
  4. Add garlic and cook briefly.
  5. Add flour and stir to create a roux.
  6. Whisk in broth until smooth and simmer.
  7. Add Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  8. Stir in sour cream and heavy cream on low heat.
  9. Return shrimp to skillet and coat in sauce.
  10. Serve over noodles or rice and garnish with parsley.

Notes

Add spinach or Parmesan for extra richness. Avoid boiling after adding sour cream to prevent curdling.
