Brownie Layer
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup cocoa powder
  • 0.75 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 tsp salt
Pecan Pie Layer
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar packed
  • 3 eggs large
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 1.5 cups pecan halves

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare baking pan.
  2. Mix sugars and butter, then add eggs and vanilla.
  3. Stir in cocoa powder, flour, and salt.
  4. Spread brownie batter into pan and bake 15 minutes.
  5. Whisk pecan pie ingredients and stir in pecans.
  6. Pour pecan mixture over brownie layer.
  7. Bake 35–40 minutes until set.
  8. Cool completely and chill before slicing.

Notes

Chilling improves slice definition and flavor.
