Beef Filling
  • 1 lb ground beef 85/15 lean blend
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 0.5 cup beef broth
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded, divided
Biscuit Topping
  • 2 cups biscuit mix
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 0.75 cup milk
  • 0.25 cup butter melted
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp parsley dried

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9x9 baking dish.
  2. Brown ground beef in skillet. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add onion and garlic; cook until softened.
  4. Stir in Worcestershire, tomato paste, salt, and pepper.
  5. Add flour, broth, and cream; cook until thickened.
  6. Stir in half the cheese; spread filling in baking dish.
  7. Mix biscuit topping ingredients; spoon over filling.
  8. Bake 22–25 minutes until golden. Brush with garlic butter if desired.

Notes

For extra cheesiness, sprinkle more cheddar on top before baking.
