Method
- Boil or steam sweet potato until tender, then mash until smooth.
- Mash chickpeas in a large bowl, leaving some chunks for texture.
- Add mashed sweet potato, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, and spices. Mix until combined.
- Form mixture into 8–10 patties.
- Pan-fry or bake until golden brown and crisp on both sides.
- Serve with yogurt or tahini dip and garnish with parsley.
Notes
For a vegan version, replace the egg with a flax egg.
