Method
- Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl.
- In a second bowl, mix melted butter, egg, milk, and vanilla.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients just until mixed.
- Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) in a heavy pot.
- Drop tablespoon-sized scoops of dough into the oil.
- Fry 2–3 minutes, turning, until golden brown.
- Drain donut holes on paper towels.
- Roll warm donut holes in melted butter, then cinnamon sugar.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
Serve fresh for best texture. Make sure oil stays at 350°F for even cooking.
