Ingredients
  

Pretzel Dough
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.25 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1.5 cups warm water
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
Baking Soda Bath
  • 0.5 cup baking soda
  • 9 cups water
Cinnamon Sugar Coating
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter melted

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Activate yeast in warm water and sugar until foamy.
  2. Mix in flour, salt, and butter; knead until smooth.
  3. Let dough rise 1 hour until doubled.
  4. Prepare baking soda bath and preheat oven to 425°F.
  5. Shape dough into pretzels.
  6. Dip each pretzel in baking soda bath for 20–30 seconds.
  7. Bake 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Brush with melted butter and coat in cinnamon sugar.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh and warm. Can be frozen after baking.
