  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 1 orange zested
  • 1 egg large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 0.5 cup fresh cranberries chopped, optional
  • 0.75 cup white chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, and orange zest; rub together to release citrus oils.
  3. Add softened butter and cream until light and fluffy.
  4. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  6. Add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  7. Fold in dried cranberries, fresh cranberries, and white chocolate chips.
  8. Scoop dough onto baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10–13 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill dough 30 minutes before baking.
