Ingredients
  

Pasta
  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup parmesan cheese freshly grated
  • 0.25 cup reserved pasta water
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • fresh parsley for garnish

Method
 

  1. Cook penne in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve pasta water and drain.
  2. Sauté garlic in butter and olive oil until fragrant.
  3. Add heavy cream and simmer gently until slightly thickened.
  4. Stir in parmesan until melted and smooth.
  5. Toss pasta with sauce, adding pasta water as needed.
  6. Garnish with parsley and serve warm.

Notes

For extra protein, add grilled chicken or shrimp. Use freshly grated parmesan for best texture and flavor.
