For the Chicken
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
For the Sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 large yellow onion thinly sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 0.75 cup sour cream
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 tsp dried thyme

Method
 

  1. Season and lightly flour chicken breasts.
  2. Sear chicken in olive oil and butter until golden; remove and set aside.
  3. Caramelize onions in butter until soft and golden.
  4. Add garlic and flour; cook 30 seconds.
  5. Gradually whisk in broth, then stir in sour cream, heavy cream, and seasonings.
  6. Return chicken to skillet and simmer until cooked through and sauce thickens.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with parsley or crispy onions.
