Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 lb chicken breasts or thighs boneless, skinless
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 onion diced
  • 2 carrots sliced
  • 2 celery stalks sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.75 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter melted

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Add chicken, vegetables, broth, and seasonings to slow cooker.
  2. Cook until chicken is tender, then shred and return to pot.
  3. Stir in milk and butter.
  4. Mix dumpling ingredients until just combined.
  5. Drop dumpling dough onto hot stew.
  6. Cover and cook until dumplings are fluffy and cooked through.

Notes

Avoid lifting the lid while dumplings cook for best texture.
