- Season chuck roast generously on all sides.
- Sear roast in hot skillet until browned.
- Place vegetables in crock pot and top with roast.
- Pour broth mixture over roast.
- Cook on low 8–9 hours or high 4–5 hours.
- Thicken gravy if desired and serve.

For best results, cook low and slow.
