Ingredients
  

Banana Bread Cookies
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp nutmeg
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.75 cup mashed ripe bananas
  • 0.25 cup sour cream
Cream Cheese Glaze
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 0.5 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2-3 tbsp milk or cream

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg together.
  3. Cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add egg and vanilla, then mix in mashed bananas and sour cream.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Scoop large portions onto baking sheets and lightly flatten.
  7. Bake 12–15 minutes until set but soft in the center. Cool completely.
  8. Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla; add milk to desired consistency.
  9. Glaze cooled cookies and allow to set before serving.

Notes

Use very ripe bananas for best flavor and do not overbake.
