  • 12 oz wide egg noodles cooked al dente
  • 3 cups shredded chicken cooked
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup 10.5 oz
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup 10.5 oz
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 0.5 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 0.5 cup frozen peas optional
  • 0.5 cup diced carrots or mixed vegetables
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.25 tsp paprika
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or crushed buttery crackers
  • 3 tbsp butter melted
  • fresh parsley for garnish

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • 9x13 inch baking dish

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook noodles until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix soups, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and pepper.
  4. Add chicken, peas, carrots, and noodles. Stir gently to coat.
  5. Pour mixture into prepared dish and top with cheese.
  6. Mix breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle on top.
  7. Bake uncovered 30–35 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
  8. Rest 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley.

Notes

You can assemble this casserole a day ahead and refrigerate until baking. Add 10 minutes to bake time if cold from fridge.
