Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 8 eggs large
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 cups bread cubes day-old
  • 2 cups shredded cheese cheddar or Colby Jack
  • 0.75 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

Equipment

  • 9x13 inch baking dish
  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Skillet

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13 dish.
  2. Cook sausage until browned and drain.
  3. Layer bread, sausage, and cheese in dish.
  4. Whisk eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
  5. Pour egg mixture over casserole.
  6. Bake 40–45 minutes until set.
  7. Rest briefly before serving.

Notes

Can be assembled the night before and baked in the morning.
