  • 1 lb ground sausage mild or spicy
  • 8 oz cream cheese cubed
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.5 cup diced green chilies canned or fresh
  • 0.25 cup milk adjust for desired creaminess
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.25 tsp onion powder optional
  • to taste salt and black pepper

Method
 

  1. Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Place cream cheese in the bottom of the crock pot. Add the cooked sausage on top.
  3. Sprinkle shredded cheddar, diced green chilies, garlic powder, and onion powder over the sausage and cream cheese.
  4. Pour milk evenly over all ingredients.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 2 hours, stirring occasionally. For a faster option, cook on high for 1 hour.
  6. Stir until fully melted and combined. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions, paprika, or extra shredded cheese. Serve warm with tortilla chips, bread slices, or crackers.

Notes

Stir occasionally during cooking to ensure smooth consistency. Add extra milk if the dip is too thick.
