Ingredients
  

  • 0.5 cup soy sauce low sodium recommended
  • 0.25 cup water
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water for slurry

Method
 

  1. Whisk soy sauce, water, brown sugar, honey, garlic, and ginger in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  3. Stir cornstarch with water to make a slurry.
  4. Whisk slurry into sauce and simmer until thickened.

Notes

Brush sauce onto protein during the last few minutes of cooking to prevent burning.
