Ingredients
  

  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp ground cloves
  • 0.25 tsp nutmeg
  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.25 cup molasses

Method
 

  1. Whisk dry ingredients together.
  2. Cream butter and sugar, then add egg and molasses.
  3. Mix in dry ingredients and chill dough.
  4. Roll dough in sugars and bake until cracked.

Notes

Do not overbake for soft centers.
