Ingredients
  

Brownie Batter
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.25 tsp salt
Cream Cheese Swirl
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 0.33 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • orange gel food coloring to desired shade

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter and chocolate in a saucepan until smooth.
  3. Whisk in granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  4. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt; stir gently until just combined.
  5. Spread brownie batter evenly in the prepared pan.
  6. Beat cream cheese, sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla until smooth.
  7. Tint cream cheese mixture orange with gel food coloring.
  8. Dollop tinted cream cheese over brownie batter and swirl with a knife.
  9. Bake for 28–35 minutes until the center is just set.
  10. Cool completely before cutting for clean edges.

Notes

Chill brownies before slicing for clean, sharp edges.
