Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups water
  • 0.5 cup dried hibiscus flowers
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries hulled
  • 0.75 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 cup sugar or honey adjust to taste
  • 2 cups ice for serving

Equipment

  • Saucepan or kettle
  • Fine mesh strainer
  • Blender
  • Pitcher

Method
 

  1. Bring water to a boil and remove from heat. Add dried hibiscus flowers and steep for 10–12 minutes.
  2. Strain the tea and allow it to cool completely.
  3. Blend strawberries until smooth. Strain if desired.
  4. In a pitcher, combine hibiscus tea, strawberry puree, lemon juice, and sweetener.
  5. Stir well, taste, and adjust sweetness if needed.
  6. Chill and serve over ice with optional garnishes.

Notes

For a sparkling version, replace part of the water with sparkling water just before serving.
