Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables peas, carrots, corn
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 cup beef broth
  • salt and black pepper to taste
Topping
  • 3 cups mashed potatoes prepared
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese optional

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Baking dish
  • Spatula

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Cook ground beef until browned, drain fat.
  3. Sauté onion and garlic until softened.
  4. Add tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, and vegetables. Simmer 5–7 minutes.
  5. Transfer filling to baking dish, spread mashed potatoes on top, dot with butter, sprinkle cheese.
  6. Bake 20–25 minutes until golden and bubbly.

Notes

Great for using leftover mashed potatoes or vegetables.
