Method
- Soak breadcrumbs in milk for 5–10 minutes.
- Mix all meatball ingredients together until just combined.
- Shape into 1½-inch balls and place on parchment-lined tray.
- Sear meatballs in olive oil until browned on all sides.
- In a large saucepan, sauté onion and garlic, then add tomatoes, sauce, and seasonings.
- Simmer sauce for 10 minutes.
- Add meatballs to sauce and simmer 25–30 minutes on low heat.
- Garnish with fresh basil and Parmesan before serving.
Notes
Use a mix of beef and pork for tenderness and flavor. Don’t overmix to keep meatballs light.
