Ingredients
  

  • 12 lasagna noodles cooked al dente
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese whole milk
  • 1 egg large
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1.5 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

Method
 

  1. Cook lasagna noodles until al dente; drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté onion in olive oil until softened; add garlic and cook briefly.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned; season and stir in marinara sauce.
  4. Mix cream cheese, ricotta, egg, and half the Parmesan until smooth.
  5. Layer sauce, noodles, cheese mixture, and mozzarella in a baking dish.
  6. Repeat layers and finish with sauce and mozzarella.
  7. Bake covered at 375°F (190°C) for 30 minutes; uncover and bake 15 minutes more.
  8. Rest 10–15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Letting the lasagna rest ensures clean slices and better texture.
