Ingredients
  

Pasta Skillet
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 8 oz mushrooms sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups pasta uncooked penne or rotini
  • 3 cups broth chicken or vegetable
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 2 cups spinach fresh
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.25 tsp red pepper flakes optional

Equipment

  • Large pot or deep skillet
  • Knife

Method
 

  1. Heat butter and olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add mushrooms and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Stir in garlic, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Add uncooked pasta and broth; bring to a boil.
  5. Simmer 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Stir in cream and parmesan until creamy.
  7. Add spinach and let wilt.
  8. Taste and adjust seasoning, then serve.

Notes

If sauce thickens too much, add extra broth or milk to loosen.
