Ingredients

One Pot Pasta
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 yellow onion finely diced
  • 2 cups cherry tomatoes halved
  • 3.5 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 12 oz spaghetti or linguine uncooked
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream or milk optional
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 0.25 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese freshly grated
  • 1 handful fresh basil leaves chopped

Equipment

  • Large pot or deep skillet
  • Wooden spoon
  • Chef's knife
  • Cutting board

Method

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Sauté garlic and onion until fragrant.
  2. Add cherry tomatoes and cook until softened.
  3. Add pasta and pour in broth, ensuring noodles are mostly submerged.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and sauce thickens.
  6. Stir in cream, Parmesan, and basil. Toss until creamy and serve hot.

Notes

Add grilled chicken or shrimp for protein; adjust broth based on pasta shape.
