Ingredients
  

Main
  • 1 lb Italian sausage sweet or spicy
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups uncooked pasta short pasta
  • 0.5 cup parmesan grated
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • fresh parsley for garnish

  • Wooden spoon

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add sausage and cook until browned, breaking it apart.
  3. Stir in diced onion and cook until softened.
  4. Add garlic and cook 1 minute.
  5. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  6. Pour in tomato sauce and stir to combine.
  7. Add chicken broth and uncooked pasta. Stir well.
  8. Cover and simmer 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  9. Add heavy cream and simmer uncovered 2–3 minutes.
  10. Stir in parmesan until sauce thickens.
  11. Garnish with parsley and serve.

Notes

Add red pepper flakes for heat or spinach for extra vegetables.
