- Preheat oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Brown ground beef in large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking apart with wooden spoon, 6-8 minutes. Drain most excess fat.
- Add onion and bell pepper to skillet, cooking 4-5 minutes until softened.
- Stir in garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add tomato sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, chili powder, paprika, salt and pepper. Stir to combine.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer 8-10 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Transfer meat mixture to prepared baking dish, spreading evenly.
- Separate biscuit dough and arrange biscuits over meat mixture, spacing slightly apart.
- Brush biscuit tops with melted butter if desired.
- Bake 15-18 minutes until biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
- Sprinkle cheese over biscuits and return to oven for 3-5 minutes until melted.
- Let rest 5 minutes, garnish with parsley, and serve hot.
Notes
Store leftovers in airtight container in refrigerator for 3-4 days. Reheat individual portions in microwave or full dish in 350°F oven. Can substitute ground turkey or chicken for beef. Add hot sauce or jalapeños for extra heat.
