Ingredients

Turkey
  • 3-4 lb turkey breast boneless or bone-in
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth
Maple Glaze
  • 0.33 cup maple syrup pure
  • 4 tbsp butter or vegan butter
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper

Equipment

  • Slow cooker
  • Small saucepan
  • Basting brush
  • Knife and cutting board

Method

  1. Place sliced onion in the bottom of the slow cooker and set turkey breast on top.
  2. Heat butter, maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, and spices in a saucepan to make the glaze.
  3. Pour half the glaze over the turkey and add broth around the sides.
  4. Cook on low for 5–6 hours or high for 3–4 hours until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  5. Brush with remaining glaze and broil 3–4 minutes for added color if desired.
  6. Slice turkey and serve with extra glaze or pan juices.

Notes

Cooking on low yields the juiciest results. Broiling adds a caramelized finish.
