Method
- Prepare all ingredients and lightly grease the slow cooker.
- Melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in flour, then gradually add milk to form a smooth sauce.
- Add cheese, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Stir until melted.
- Layer potatoes, ham, and onions in the slow cooker, pouring sauce over each layer.
- Cover and cook on low 5–6 hours or high 3–4 hours until tender.
- Sprinkle with extra cheese near the end and garnish with herbs before serving.
Notes
Best served warm. Store leftovers refrigerated for up to 4 days or freeze up to 2 months.
