Ingredients
  

Chex Mix Base
  • 8 cups Chex cereal corn or rice
  • 2 cups mini pretzels
  • 1 cup pecans or mixed nuts
Toffee Coating
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.25 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
Optional Add-Ins
  • 1 cup M&Ms or chocolate chips add after baking

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C) and line baking sheet with parchment.
  2. Combine cereal, pretzels, and nuts in large bowl.
  3. In saucepan, melt butter, sugar, and corn syrup; bring to boil for 3 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and baking soda.
  5. Pour toffee over cereal mixture and toss until coated.
  6. Spread on baking sheet; bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  7. Cool completely, break apart, and add optional chocolate or candies.

Notes

Store in airtight container for up to 2 weeks. Great for gifting or party snacks.
