Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.25 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk or water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp butter melted
  • 3 tbsp butter softened
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh basil or oregano chopped
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheese mozzarella or blend

Method
 

  1. Activate yeast with warm liquid and sugar until foamy.
  2. Mix in flour, salt, oil, and melted butter to form dough.
  3. Knead until smooth, then let rise until doubled.
  4. Roll dough into rectangle and spread with butter.
  5. Sprinkle garlic, herbs, and cheese evenly over dough.
  6. Roll tightly, place in loaf pan, and let rise again.
  7. Bake until golden and cooked through.

Notes

Allow bread to cool slightly before slicing to keep the swirl intact.
