Ingredients

For the Salmon
  • 4 salmon fillets 6-8 oz each
  • salt and black pepper to taste
For the Butter Sauce
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • fresh parsley for garnish

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Mixing bowl
  • Basting brush

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper. Place on prepared baking sheet.
  3. Whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, garlic, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, dried parsley, and black pepper until smooth.
  4. Brush half of the butter sauce generously over the top of each salmon fillet.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove and baste with more butter sauce.
  6. Return to oven and bake another 8-12 minutes until salmon flakes easily and top is caramelized. Internal temperature should reach 145°F.
  7. Optional: Switch to broil for final 1-2 minutes for extra caramelization, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  8. Let rest 2-3 minutes, drizzle with remaining sauce, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

For best caramelization, ensure salmon is completely dry before brushing with sauce. Watch carefully when broiling to prevent burning. Salmon continues cooking after removal from oven, so slightly underdone is perfect.
