Ingredients
  

Brownie Layer
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.75 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.75 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp espresso powder
  • 0.5 cup chocolate chips
Mascarpone Layer
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Topping
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 baking pan with parchment.
  2. Mix melted butter and sugar in a bowl.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  4. Whisk cocoa powder, flour, salt, and espresso powder in another bowl.
  5. Combine dry ingredients with wet mixture.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Spread batter in pan and bake 22–25 minutes.
  8. Allow brownies to cool completely.
  9. Beat mascarpone, cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  10. Spread mascarpone mixture over brownies and dust with cocoa powder.
  11. Chill before slicing and serving.

Notes

For stronger tiramisu flavor, brush cooled brownies lightly with espresso before adding the mascarpone layer.
