- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Cream butter and sugars until fluffy; add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla.
- Stir in dry ingredients until combined; fold in chocolate chips.
- Scoop dough, place on baking sheets, and bake 10–12 minutes until golden at edges.
- Cool, then dust with powdered sugar and sprinkle decorations if desired.
Notes
For a thicker cookie, chill dough 30 minutes before baking. Decorate when fully cooled to maintain powdered sugar texture.
