Cookie Dough
  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg large
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.75 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 0.75 cup white chocolate chips
Toppings
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar for dusting
  • 1 tbsp silver or white sprinkles optional

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Electric mixer
  • Baking sheets
  • Wire rack
  • Parchment paper

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugars until fluffy; add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla.
  4. Stir in dry ingredients until combined; fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Scoop dough, place on baking sheets, and bake 10–12 minutes until golden at edges.
  6. Cool, then dust with powdered sugar and sprinkle decorations if desired.

Notes

For a thicker cookie, chill dough 30 minutes before baking. Decorate when fully cooled to maintain powdered sugar texture.
